We’re excited to share the success of an incredible 5-day workshop that took place from November 18–22, 2024, at the Tanoa Tusitala Hotel in Samoa!

Hosted by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), in partnership with the Pacific Community (SPC) and UN ESCAP, this event brought together experts, statisticians, and IT specialists from the Samoa Bureau of Statistics, Fiji Bureau of Statistics, Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Samoa..

Participants dived deep into the world of Statistical Data and Metadata Exchange (SDMX), gaining hands-on experience in data modeling, preparation, and exchange. Highlights included:
– A comprehensive overview of the SDMX data portal project.
– Training on SDMX tools and the SDMX Information Model.
– On-site support to help Samoa adopt an SDMX-compliant data portal.

This workshop was all about collaboration, capacity building, and advancing data systems for a more connected future.
