Samoa’s Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) Report has been prepared by the Samoa Bureau of Statistics (SBS) in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) with technical assistance and support provided by the Oxford Poverty Human Development Initiative (OPHI).

Samoa Poverty Report 2022

The Household Income and Expenditure Survey (HIES) conducted in Samoa in 2018 was the fourth such survey to be conducted since 2002. The survey interviewed 3,018 households across Upolu and Savaii capturing information on a wide range of household characte ristics including house construction, asset ownership, education and employment as well as household income and expenditure.
